Tonkin Springs Reservoir is located approximately 54 miles north of Eureka off NV-278. Nestled at the base of the Roberts range, Tonkin Springs Reservoir is an isolated site known primarily for its fly-fishing opportunities. Although this reservoir sits mainly on private land owned by Nevada Gold Mines, access is open to the public. A portion of the recreation site is also managed by the BLM. This site is undeveloped, yet it offers fishing for trout, chances to view waterfowl and other bird species, and plentiful opportunities to photograph additional wildlife along the way.
