Ward Charcoal Ovens State Historic Park

Ward Charcoal Ovens Historic State Park is located approximately 20 miles south of Ely off Great Basin Highway. This state park has a rich history in mining; showcasing six remaining charcoal kilns from the historic Ward Mining District. In addition to a history lesson, the park offers fishing, hiking, and camping in the heart of the Nevada high desert. Not far down the road, you’ll also find access to endless OHV trails.
