Summary

Located 65 miles north of Elko on State route 225, Wild Horse State Recreation Area provides year-round outdoor fun. It sits at 6,200 feet in elevation and encompasses approximately 2,800 aces. It is well-known for its ice fishing opportunities, as it sees some of the coldest temperatures in Nevada. Open water fishing is just as renowned, as well as opportunities for boating, camping, and some of the best wildflower viewing in the state.
